It is truly a treat to be born and raised in California. The state is filled with beautiful locales to explore on weekend trips – Big Sur, Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, Big Bear. The list is endless. Whatever adventure you choose, it is bound to be nothing short of epic with plenty of activity. There is still so many places I have not visited and looking forward to what is in store for this year’s Labor Day. I’m leaning towards Catalina Island, as it would be my first time!
The temperature is definitely reaching its climax, and for those of us hitting the California roads to embark on our last trip of the summer, I’ve provided some necessary essentials to pack for the upcoming holiday weekend.
Let us first start with beauty! It’s important to stay hydrated, and BKR is my favorite water bottle to have in-tow. I don’t like to leave home without it. Next, is a great BB cream and a two-in-one lotion/SPF. When you are on the road, you want to keep your beauty routine minimal, but still look like your fabulous self. Lastly, pack your favorite hair wax. It is a lifesaver when you need a sleek look in a pinch. When it comes to style, I like to start with the accessories first. It’s hot everywhere and the sun is blazing, so be sure to grab a stylish hat for protection and to keep cool. Also, pick a pair of inexpensive sunglasses that you do not mind losing. Keep it light and do not carry valuables. As for clothing, I’m a fan of the t-shirt dress. And always layer! I dig a great military jacket or vest. For shoes, bring both a sandal and slip-on because who knows where the road will take you?And don’t forget the sneakers and activewear! I love Fabletics— their looks do double duty as a stylish outfit post hiking, and get two thumbs up from me.
