In less than two days, I’ll be heading off to Joshua Tree to celebrate my 30th birthday with my favorite people. YAY! For two days, it will be nothing but dry heat, the desert, libations and lounging poolside. This will be my first time visiting this magical place, so I am geeked, and of course inspired. Here are the style essentials for my 30th desert getaway.
These puppies have been a must-have on my last few trips. They are the perfect little vacation shoe. Lightweight, feminine and unique. But my favorite thing about these flats is they protect the foot, while still essentially being a sandal.
Two bathing suits (one for getting wet and one for lounging)
I always bring 2 or 3 suits, because selecting a suit to wear all depends on my mood, activity, or level of bloat.
Maxi peasant skirt
I have a beautiful maxi peasant skirt I scored at Half Off in Silverlake years ago, and have only worn it a few times due to its fragility. But I’m letting her out to play and may hit the Hookah spot in this frock.
BCBG Kitty Hat
I’m such a cat at heart. And I’m dusting this little girl off too to keep me company by the pool.
My Sam sunnies from J. Crew’s new sunglass line has quickly become one of my favorite pair to wear. The fit, color, style, quality…I could go on and on. I want them in every color.
Gap tank top and denim shorts
This dynamic duo is my vacation uniform. It’s effortless, clean, and keeps you looking cool while comfortable. These two items are usually the only thing I end up wearing other than a bathing suit.
I found this one fine day in Target. And of course, they only had a large, so what did I do? I snagged it. I love the oversized fit and it’s super comfortable.
