I recently celebrated my 30th birthday in the desert, and it was simply amazing. Good tunes, perfect drinks, and cooking with my loved ones. It was exactly the way I wanted to celebrate my 30th – in the most beautiful and peaceful setting. I felt liberated and loved.
We rented a sick AirBnB crib in Yucca Valley, just 15 minutes away from Joshua Tree, fully loaded with a fire pit, bubbling hot tub, and an almost Olympic-sized pool. We literally spent the entire weekend outside. From sun up to sun down we engaged in discussion, played with temporary tattoos, and sipped lots of bubbly and Moscow Mules. Not to mention the adorable floaties.
After checking out, we got back on the road to Joshua Tree National Park and took in the sights and exhibits. It was major photo opp time for us ladies. If you have never visited the Park, I highly suggest entering through the front of the park and doing a stop-and-drive. It’s the easiest way to do it, and you can explore what you want and how you want to do it.
The rock formations looked like something from a movie set. Joshua Tree National Park was lovely and the right setting for the cactus lover. Unfortunately, we had a little fluffy white dog in tow, so we couldn’t hike like we wanted to, but I would like to visit again soon and do a real hike.
All in all, it was the best birthday since my 21st. Have you visited Joshua Tree? Share your experiences with me in the comments.
