Here’s what I’m loving in February

I want to share a few of my favorite things as of late. And maybe I should start sharing this more often. Since it’s my first time doing this, it is quite an exhaustive list. It ranges from hair and beauty to fashion and everything in between. Enjoy and feel free to comment. Hopefully, you see something you want to check out.

I also need to do a quick write up on our Park City experience during the holidays. I am so geeked to visit again next year. Park City is such an amazing little town with excellent food and activity. And I cannot wait to share with you all.

My two oversized button-up shirts from Aritzia

Oversized button ups are a thing for me. I first fell in love with an old Ann Taylor one I had for years that I, unfortunately, had to get rid of because it was too worn out. Then, Aritzia had a sale and I stumbled upon these two babies. The quality is THE BEST. I believe this is a chic staple everyone should have in their wardrobe. You can wear them so many different ways. I cannot live without at least one.

Initial necklace by Anthropologie

My boss gave all the girls on her team this necklace, and no joke, we all wear it regularly. It is so simple, yet statement-making. I layer it with my Evil Eye necklace or wear it alone.

Red booties from Zara

I got them so cheap on sale, and they are a beautiful soft red leather with tiny silver studs. I’ve worn them almost every other day. They are the perfect winter red shoe.

Similar ones here.

Rag & Bone Mules

My hubby surprised me with these for Christmas, and I died. I was totally not expecting such an incredible shoe. Between these and the red booties, they have been the only shoes I’ve worn for the last two months. And I love that I don’t see a lot of people wearing them.

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish oil

Can Dermalogica make anything I don’t like? I mean, really. Almost my entire skincare regimen is Dermalogica, and adding this wonderful oil has helped so much with dehydrated skin. I tried this before as I got it free through work. And then I just didn’t buy it again. Why? I have no idea. It’s expensive as hell but worth it. It’s lightweight and great for your skin. I use it at night and during the day by mixing it with my tinted moisturizer in the mornings, and it gives me that perfect healthy glow without doing too much and looking greasy.

Everlane denim

I am obsessed. I live in jeans almost every day. So, denim means a lot to me. I own two pairs of Everlane jeans and plan on purchasing a third. What I love most? How they form to your body with minimal stretch. I am so so over stretchy denim. They never keep their shape. You really feel the quality of this brand. And the price can’t be beaten. Note: order a size down in the mid blue wash.

RMS Lip2Cheek in Beloved

Believe the hype about this brand. Again, I am obsessed with this product. I only use it on my cheeks and all it takes is a couple of dabs to achieve the perfect, natural, rosy glow. I’ve tried using it on my lips and it didn’t blend very well, but maybe if I mixed with a balm it would be a lot more flexible. RMS Lip2Cheek is super pigmented with non-toxic natural ingredients, so it’s perfect for everyday wear. Literally THE BEST blush I own.

Bartaile C12 Nylux Backpack

This freaking backpack. I had been eyeing it since I heard blogger, Tamira Jarrel, rave about it. So I told my husband I wanted it for Christmas, as it would be perfect for travel. Come Christmas Day, the hubs surprised me with it. I was super excited, and really only wanted to use it for trips. But here’s the rub, I’ve been carrying my Everlane tote for years now and it’s looking very worn-in. Almost too worn-in. So, I decided to give this backpack a go. And oh my gosh. The structure of it has made toting all of my things around so much easier. My stuff isn’t moving around all over the place AND there are so many different compartments in which to put all my little stuff, like tea, headphones, sunglasses, etc. It’s a must. Plus, it’s versatile and so chic.

Chocolate Aloha protein powder

For breakfast, during the week I alternate between Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie and a protein smoothie. And for my protein smoothies, I typically use vanilla flavored Aloha protein powder and decided to switch it up with chocolate and thank God I did. It’s delicious. It’s like a chocolate shake. I add coconut water, banana and spirulina to mine.

Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Humidity Block Curl Gel

This has quickly become one of my two favorite hair gels. For so long, I would only use Ouidad because I couldn’t find another gel just as good. But, I received a ton of samples of this Curl Gel from work last year, and would always use it when I was out of the Ouidad. Well now I’m hooked, and I finally purchased the full size. It glides on nicely with my conditioner for styling and gives great hold for days

Oprah’s Super Soul Sessions Podcast (specifically the Maya Angelou sessions)

Since I have a bit of a commute, I have a short list of go-to podcasts. Oprah’s Super Soul Sessions is most definitely one of them. It took me a while to get on the train because at first, it didn’t really speak to me. But then I gave it another chance because I needed to inject more positive podcasts into my Rolodex. I’m glad I did. I have listened to several at this point, but Maya Angelou’s sessions resonated with me most. She was a supreme goddess and I highly recommend you check these out.

Beauty Bakerie’s Coffee & Cocoa Bronzer Palette

ALL of my brown girls need to own this palette. It is gorgeous, super pigmented and I can literally wear every color in this palette – which is so rare if you are a woman of color. I use it mostly for highlight, bronzer and blush. It’s perfect for travel because you don’t have to bring a ton of palettes and colors. You can use these colors as shadows as well.

Marble Coffee table from Cost Plus World Market

World Market is one of my absolute favorite stores to shop for home decor, artisanal foods and goods. AND they always have great sales. I was in search of the right shape and sized marble table for a couple of months. I checked out West Elm as well as Article.com and settled on this one from World Market. It is perfect – sturdy and beautiful. So happy we found it at such a great price.

That’s all for now! More to come soon. I don’t think the next list will be quite as long since this is the first one, but I’ll be sure to keep it super curated.
