A sleek european style sneaker has been on trend for quite some time. And I must admit, I have finally fallen prey. I typically stick with my white low-top Chuck Taylors or leopard print Schutz slip-ons, but these sleek sneakers by Axel Arigato has got me in its trap. Check out the five pairs on my wish list. I am super excited to finally share my personal style with you folks – and also very nervous. I have been reluctant to post style photos, but I finally caved. For years I have received compliments on my pairings, from friends and strangers alike, urging me to show it off in photographic form. However, a part of me has always felt like being your “own model”, so to speak, is a bit self-important, narcissistic, and not me at all. Do not misunderstand, I love style bloggers and follow a few I really like and find inspiring. It just was never ME.
But I recently changed my tune, and decided to get out of my comfort zone and have a little fun here at MONARCH. My goal for showcasing my personal style is to inspire and help my readers create their own simple, beautiful and chic looks. read more

Yay! My first natural hair blog post. I get so many people asking me about my hair, products I use and techniques; so I thought this would be a great place to share photos, my faves and fails.
I finally figured out the best way for me to get the perfect twist-out that lasts five days or more! I am THRILLED. Typically, I am a wash and go girl, but I like different looks and decided to take on the task. Prior to doing a bit of research, it never looked that great. I wanted my curls to look like my favorite blogger’s perfect and luscious twist-out that, of course, looks freaking effortless. read more
