The beauty of living in Southern California is experiencing all of the exhilarating local escapes. You can literally decide the day of, to pack a bag road trip it to encounter crisp blue waves crashing ashore, a gorgeous desert, or even the snow; and all within 2 to 3 hours or less. I have made it my personal goal to explore more of California this year. There is still so much I have not seen, and I am a freaking native!
So last week, the beau and I decided to explore Mt. Baldy. Mt. Baldy is the highest point of the massive San Gabriel Mountain Range, and is just an hour outside of Los Angeles. Prior to committing to a full ski or snowboard day, we decided to first check it out and get into some tobogganing. Unfortunately, Patty Mayonnaise was not feeling well, and we did not make it out to Mt. Baldy until late Saturday afternoon. But though we only had a few hours, we did have an absolute blast. Happy Friday, folks! I hope everyone has been enjoying the cooler temperatures here in Los Angeles. It is finally starting to feel a little bit like fall. And I’m getting really really excited. It is truly a treat to be born and raised in California. The state is filled with beautiful locales to explore on weekend trips – Big Sur, Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, Big Bear. The list is endless. Whatever adventure you choose, it is bound to be nothing short of epic with plenty of activity. There is still so many places I have not visited and looking forward to what is in store for this year’s Labor Day. I’m leaning towards Catalina Island, as it would be my first time!

The DR has always been on my bucket list of countries to visit. So, to kick off the summer, I jetted off to this beautiful caribbean island with my mom in tow for four days. It was Ah-ma-zing. We stayed at the luxurious all-inclusive Paradisus Punta Cana Resort, and it was worth every penny to not have to think about, “What am I going to make for dinner tonight?” Everything was taken care of, and it was a complete dream. The only thing I had to be concerned with was, “What time should I hit the beach, today?” It was the very thing I needed to reboot from life and work stress.
I took a shot of these Spanish stairs while taking a break at the office. There’s nothing more relaxing during the work week as a quick walk around the block. You never know what you’ll find, like these beautiful Spanish style stairs.
